Ok, so I’ve done the blog thing before, taking on topics that had to do with my move to the UK back in 2004. While I was somewhat regular with posts at the beginning, it trailed off to a trickle, then nothing. This very well could end in the exact same way, but I am not going to try to nail myself down to one particular topic this time around.
This time I am going to write about whatever is either happening or interesting to me at any given time. If people are interested, great. If not, great. A couple of topics that I can see coming up fairly frequently are my impending fatherhood, which is nothing less than amazing, and my new love of board games.
As for fatherhood, my wife, Nicole, is due on 11 June 2007. She’s next to me right now crocheting a blanket for the baby. We don’t know the gender of the baby yet, but we will hopefully find out in a couple of weeks at the next ultrasound. We have been convinced that we are having a boy for a while now since we can only agree n a boy’s name, Ethan Ambrose. We’ve kicked around numerous girl’s names, but can’t agree on a single one. Let’s not even begin the issue of whether we will have a boy circumcised or not. I vote for not.
My other new interest, okay, obsession, is board games. I have been buying up board games like crazy lately and GeekModding on boardgamegeek.com like crazy. This is mostly due to a convention we went to in October of 2005, and again this year called Psychocon. Between that and playing games all day with some friends made at the convention on a semi-regular basis and now regularly attending a club in York called Beyond Monolopoly!, I am totally a board game geek. The biggest thing I regret is that I never attended EssenSpiel, the largest games convention in the world, in Essen, Germany while living in Europe.
Now, let’s see if this blogging thing stay regular this time around. I’ve probably jinxed it by saying that.
