It’s a Girl!?
Well, I’ve taken my sweet time posting anything about it, but we had Nicole’s 20 week ultrasound on Thursday of last week and discovered against all of our suspicions that we are having a girl. We should have known it when all we could come up with was a boy’s name that we agreed on. Now we’re trying on a few and probably have the first name narrowed down to one. The middle name will be easy after that.

Nope, it’s not Emma. That would be riding off the Vark. It looks like we have settled on Mara for a first name. We’re still working on a middle name though. Always open to suggestions.

You could go all Star Wars fanboyish and name her “Mara Jade.” Do you guys know the meaning/origin of “Mara”?

No, we will not go all fanboyish. As far as meaning/origin, it is unfortunate that it is a variation of Mary, which means “bitter” or as I saw one website says, “acrid taste”. We didn’t pick it for its meaning though. And we are pretty sure we are going with Rose for the middle name.
